I was all set to come here and write about my Tempting progress and the new book I bought and all kinds of fabulousness. But my computer has decided that it's tired today and doesn't want to recognize the fact that it can look at the memory card from my camera. Usually all I have to do is pop it in the only slot that it could possibly fit in and then a little window pops up and I'm on my way to pictures. But not today. I have tried everything that my (admittedly limited) computer knowledge will allow and nothing happens. The light goes on but no window pops up and I can't find the card anywhere in the computer. Even though I can see it. Right there, in the hole with the light on. Ugh.
So instead I guess I will tell you about my progress. I have 11 inches of body knit and I'm sure there will be much more done by the end of the night because there is DnD tonight. And that means hours of uninterrupted knitting for me.
And I bought the book Naughty Needles last week. Specifically for the Thwack! pattern. In a couple of weeks I will be ordering the suede (and some leather to make the bullwhip as well). Wee.
Ooh! I got my swap partner for the Malabrigo swap a couple days ago. Shopping is fun. I've decided on the yarn, now all I need is the "extra(s)". Presents!
That's gonna be it for now. I have tuberculosis (or a bad cold) and it's winning.

A-Tempting Warmth
Well. Christmas is done for another year. The leg warmers got finished in the nick of time. Still trying to get pictures of the knitted goods on the recipients. But the majority of them are in St. Louis right now, so that will have to wait.
But...since I finished the otherpeople knitting that means that I can start on something for myself! So I started my first sweater. Tempting from Knitty.com. In much cheaper yarn then asked for, because I might be total crap at this and I'm broke.
Started on Dec. 26th. Here is my two day picture:

Yay! The goal is to be able to wear this on my birthday (Mar. 10th) at the very latest. I thought I'd give myself some time to put down the miles of k2p2 and do something in between. I have a feeling that most of this will get done while Mike is playing DnD.
Ugh, work. Always ruins my best laid plans for blogging.

I'm not dead and I have some FOs
Take #2, because I allowed blogspot to eat my post. Ugh.

Yarn: Patons SWS
Color: Natural Plum
On Starbucks Thursdays my coffee gets way too cold way too fast. And my hands get burned. And I don't like the little cardboard sleeves that they give out. Solution? A knitted coffee cup cozy! Made using some of the leftover yarn from the dice bag. I still have a bit left, so now I have to think of something else to make with it.

Yarn: Patons SWS
Color: Natural Plum
Needles: US 9 bamboo
Both of these projects were made to break up the monotony of knitting 80 bajillion legwarmers for xmas. But the camo armwarmers are done and pictures will be posted in the next few days.
Now to go get ready for work. Oh, why is Canton 6 not having a late showing of The Golden Compass?! The are trying to ruin my plans!
Since school, Ravelry, and dance drama have eaten my life recently, I have not posted in forever. But I have some pictures to share.
First, a dice bag. Now I do not play games that require me to have dice like this, but Mike does and I really really like dice. So I made a bag to store all of my much loved and unnecessary dice

I'm in!
I'm on Ravelry! Username: AlterKnitively. Wee!!!! Still empty, but that will change in time.
And I have two pictures. Not much, but at least it's something. These are the quick pictures that were snapped right before heading off to work to give them to Laura:

Slack
So, I am a liarface. But the correct batteries were bought and put into the camera yesterday, so pictures are forthcoming. Perhaps tonight while Mike is at work.
I finished Laura's armwarmers yesterday as well. I took them to work and gave them to her, she loves them! And so did everybody else. I remembered to take pictures before I gave them to her, so they will be up soon (maybe). Dan and I arranged a trade. He is going to use his awesome tailor powers to make me a coat and I am going to make him two pairs of armwarmers. But not till the xmas knitting is done.
Ugh, xmas knitting. Now, along with the other Camo armwarmer, I have to make 5 (FIVE!?) pairs of legwarmers. But before xmas I think all I really need are two kid sized pairs and a baby sized pair. The two grownup sized ones can wait a little longer if necessary.
(Exciting) Ravelry Update:
885 people are ahead of you in line.
Woot! Less than 1000 left, should be in by tomorrow!

Uh Oh
I can't stop. I can't stop starting new projects and not finishing the old ones. I was doing so good. CO something, finish it, start something new. And then it stopped. Made one of the camo armwarmers (kind of, I still have to BO, but I need Mike to try it on first to make sure the above-the-thumb is long enough. Then I bought this fabulously rainbowed crochet thread and decided to knit something out of it, so I started a tube on some tiny size 2 dpns. It's name is Snake? because I think it want it to be a stuffy, and I think I want it to be a snake. But it might decide otherwise. And then last night Laura bought the yarn she wanted her wrist warmers to be made out of, so I think I'm going to do those before finishing the Camos, because those don't have to be done until xmas.
But, batteries (the right kind) will be put into the camera tonight, and then I can put pictures here!
Ravelry update:
5123 people are ahead of you in line.
There are officially more people behind me than in front of me. That's good I guess.

Still no batteries
Still no batteries in the digital camera, so still no pictures.
Making decent headway on the camo armwarmers. I'm almost to the thumb hole on the first one. K2 P2 over and over and over. Just keep knitting, just keep knitting.
Laura from work wants me to make her a pair like my pink ones. So that's what's next, who knows when I'll get to start on Shh! Road Trip.
